     I. Welcome

    II. Introduction from Neshaminy Manor- Commissioner Charles Martin

    III. Introduction of Officers- no election needed at this time because all positions were elected in last year and the terms are for 2 years.

    IV. Congressman Patrick Murphy- “We are all on the front line” he reported on the reforms he and his team are working on for the Senior population which included the Improve Act. He expressed the importance of Health IT and e-med records and he spoke of the spirit of working together for our country.

    V. Treasurer’s report:

    2009 Membership account beginning balance…….$13,586.29

    2009 income……………………………………………$ 1,618.27

    2009 expenses…………………………………………$(4,632.08)

    VI. Membership report: 90 members.

    VII. Membership drive announcement: We are actively recruiting members for 2 year membership for  “affiliate” vs. “membership” both have same benefit except “affiliate” is a non-voting member. The new fee will be $100 for a 2 year membership for either “affiliate” or “member”.

    VIII. Committee Reports

    • Assisted Living- Regulation support through professional organizations and 3/12 at 8:30 Pickering Manor will be next meeting.
    • Communication and Education- Continue working on CEU events and their next meeting is 2/4 at 9:00AM Pickering Manor.

    1. WIB sub committee is now part of this committee

    2. Nursing Home committee is now part of this committee

    • Upper and Central Bucks- 2/12 at 9:30AM Phoebe Richland Center is next meeting with discussions on changes that are going to affect LTC re-imbursement: CMI, RUGS, MDS 3.0, RAC Audits.
    • Home and Community Services- Licensure deadline is February 10th to apply and their next meeting is 2/9 at 2:30PM Special Care Warminster.
    • Activity Professionals Committee-: Beverly is new committee chair.

     

    IX. Updates from Bucks County Area Agency on Aging- Brian Duke, Executive Director.

    • Reported that his team met to discuss who are we?
    • Train people for succession,
    • partnerships and proven services in our community:
    • LIFE St. Mary,
    • Think Tank on Aging,
    • reauthorization of the Older Americans Act,
    • Positions open in the county
    • the initiated care initiative is delayed until 2012.
    • Elder law handbook will be coming out in May
    • Senior Games and EXPO coming in 2010
    • Senior community centers are changing programming to attract more people

     

    X. Bucks County Workforce Investment Board- Patrick Clancy and Liz Walsh

    • Updates on training applications
    • WIB 180 and other programs
